The Titleist Pro V1x’s four-piece construction adds up to longer drive distance and exceptional control on the green. The Pro V1x was designed with inner and outer cores made of polybutadiene. The casing layer, which is made of ionomer, controls the spin of the ball and maximises distance. The dual core and casing also help the firmness of the feel of the ball off your putter. In a sense, it acts like a softer cored ball off the tee to get maximum distance, but more like a firmer ball on the green for better control.
The final component is the number of dimples that Titleist has covered it with. The Pro V1x uses a staggered wave parting line that weaves itself amongst the dimples around the equator of the ball. This does two things. First, it maximises the coverage of the dimples, which helps with loft. The second is that a staggered parting line helps decrease the drag that is normally associated with a seam that is straight.
