NXT Extreme Golf Balls
Titleist NXT Extreme advantages: Polybutadiene core makes this ball into a rocket.
For the less experienced golfer whose swing isn’t of the highest speed, the NXT Extreme is a great choice. This ball is a great distance ball and responds well to slower swing speeds. The key to this is the solid polybutadiene core. The engineers at Titleist refer to a “high coefficient of restitution” when describing the core of this ball. I don’t speak the language of physics, but apparently this has something to do with making this ball think it’s a rocket.

Titleist has adjusted the dimple count on the NXT Extreme, as well. It still uses the icosahedral pattern, which is standard on Titleist balls, but provides more coverage with 392 dimples. Dimple count is one of the keys to producing more distance. More dimples helps the air flow cling to the ball just a bit longer, which allows the ball to fly farther. Of course, it’s not quite as simple as that, but we’re not all aerospace engineers; we’re golfers, right?
A final component of this ball is the staggered wave parting line. The parting line in most balls is straight and is a weak spot because it creates more drag. By eliminating the straight parting line, Titleist has created a ball that reduces drag and increases distance.
