The Nike Juice provides pure long ball enjoyment. The construction of this golf ball is fairly simple. The core is a lower compression version of the One series progressive density cores. In short, regardless of how fast your swing is, this ball wants to rocket off the tee. The feel on contact is similar to the feel of your foot striking a football in that perfect sweet spot and sending it careening into the goal.
From a construction standpoint, this ball is simple. It’s made up of two pieces: the core and the cover. Nike describes the core as an “enhanced formula designed to maximize distance, performance and improve feel.” If they’re talking about the impact of your club head against the ball, then they’ve nailed it. When the head of your club strikes this ball, you feel the distance in the impact and the ball flies like a bird.
The feel on the green is a bit softer than balls of a similar price range. In essence, what you gain in distance from the tee, you give up in feel on the green. This ball rolls. Granted, this is good when you hit an amazing drive and the ball rolls an extra 30 yards, but when you’re putting, you want more control than this ball affords. Simply put, you will need to adjust. However, for the novice, this ball brings on a feeling that can only be described as, “Wow, it went that far?”
Overall, the juice is a very playable ball and for the price you can relax and enjoy those long drives on the fairway.
